Chairman of the Board of doBank, he is also the Chairman of Bizzi & Partners Development and Milanosesto, Secretary General of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative, Deputy Chairman of the Board of CFE – Finance, Member of Advisory Board of various companies, and member of the Advisory Board of MIC Industries (Manifacturing International Company) based in Reston (Virginia – USA). He served as Ambassador of Italy to the United States of America, to Australia and to Iran. From 2001 until 2005 he was Foreign Policy Advisor to the Prime Ministers Giuliano Amato and subsequently to Silvio Berlusconi, as well as their Personal Representative for the G8 and G20 Summits.
